OMG Kay! I just finished reading your story - can’t wait to read your memoir. So much in common, you’re right. My kids are also my father’s only grandchildren. Unfortunately he is not alive to see them. Neither of them are (Dad or Father). Did you get to meet your grandmother in the end? Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. Yes, I loved Inheritance, although personally I think IVF kids are wanted, so it felt to me like they walk a different path (I was always the scapegoat, and I had no idea why) So sad for your kids, mine don't want to meet their "new" grandparent. My grandmother died last year, and so did my only aunt, but I met my bio-father in May, and it was like meeting my mother's ex-boyfriend rather than a 'father' figure; he was quite self-obsessed and surprisingly immature. I'm glad he didn't raise me, the Dad who did that job was a far better person in that regard! I did 2 years of therapy during lockdown to address a lot of this betrayal and I'm ok with it now. The book wrote itself, but I'm having a short break from it before tackling the 2nd revision. Wish me luck!
